The film
The wild is closer
than we think.
A launch film for Behold Cam-1, a wildlife camera designed to reveal the life unfolding just beyond our windows.
The starting point was a familiar feeling: something has been in the garden, but by the time we look, it is gone. Small traces build a sense of curiosity before the camera reveals the animals that share our everyday surroundings.
The film brings Behold’s purpose into focus through quiet observation, tactile product imagery and glimpses of wildlife. It connects the camera’s practical features to the experience they make possible: seeing more of the world around us.
The collaboration
Shaped together,
from script to screen.
Working directly with Pete Lacey at Behold, Christian developed the creative approach and script through an ongoing exchange of ideas and edits. The shared process kept the company’s purpose close to the filmmaking: making wildlife feel present, and the technology easy to understand.
Together, they refined the narration, decided which product benefits mattered most, and found ways to show those benefits through images. A camera left in the rain, hands placing it in the garden, and the move indoors to the app made technical information part of a clear visual story.
Christian produced, directed and photographed the film, then carried the creative approach through editing, colour grading, sound recording and sound design. The dialogue with Behold continued through the edit, with feedback on rhythm, graphics, sound and the balance between product and wildlife. Each pass brought the film closer to Behold’s voice: curious, direct and grounded in the real world.
The launch
